14. stillness

Ha! Bit of a tricky one in Wellington. But we woke up this morning to a beautiful late winter's day- with NO WIND!

Went for a wee ride on Mt Victoria...

Then met Simon for a bit of lunch-time track work.

This next photo is from the wall on the other side of our road.

13. home

Another slightly drizzly day yesterday (Tuesday), so an inside shot- and one where you can't see the pile of unfolded washing & the general detritus...

I love this poster. It's a National Publicity Studios one from 1966, and is hand screenprinted using about 30 differnt screens apparently. It's a beauty. I'd love to have it properly framed, but it's kinda large. So for the time being it's safely encapsulated in mylar.

The White Wolf is a Kachina doll from New Mexico that my step-mum Janet gave me. He is the protector of home & family, so should be placed facing the door.

12. far away

This was a bit of a tricky one today- it was grey & drizzly on Monday. Not great for photography, especially with my wee camera phone...

11. play

Today for August Break 2013 the prompt was "play".

Bit of a drizzly stay at home day today, so we had a few games picked up yesterday at the toy library. Monopoly Junior is a bit of a fave...

10. red

The kaka beak is in full flower- signs of spring! The toadstool I must confess is from a few months ago, but it is such a beautiful red...
And how could I resist M in her whacky red pants.

09. taste

A peak inside my spice drawer. I'm looking forward to a time when Miro will enjoy a spicy curry or chili dish with us. She's really not up to anything in the 'picante' range, or 'caliente' for that matter...

This evening Ma Shona treated us all to a visit to Sirocco at Zealandia. He was spectacular. Here's a not-so-great-sorry-it's-taken-with-my-phone-camera photo...

08. a selfie

This is the one that's probably scared me the most. I really hate having my photo taken- maybe doing it myself is a way to get over that (can you get over things at the age of 44? wait. what? 44? yikes.)

So yesterday on my ride I took a cop-out selfie...

...and would have been ok with that if I couldn't be happy with todays one.

I can live with that.
